A river of energy
Aruba owns a total of 11 hydroelectric power plants. Three of them are located near the Global Cloud Data Center in Ponte San Pietro, in the province of Bergamo, along the Brembo River: 1 is integrated into the campus, while the other 2 are located a short distance upstream.
Of the remaining 8 plants, 2 are also in Lombardy, in Melegnano, in the province of Milan, along the Lambro River; 2 are in Veneto, in Chiuppano and Calvene, in the province of Vicenza, along the Astico River; 1 is in Friuli, in Pontebba, in the province of Udine, along the Fella River; and 3 are in Piedmont, in Cafasse, Balangero and Lanzo Torinese, in the province of Turin, along the Stura di Lanzo River.
With the acquisition of the three hydroelectric plants in Piedmont in 2026, the Group’s hydroelectric portfolio reached a total nominal capacity of approximately 11.6 MW and an annual generation capacity of over 60 GWh.
