We maintain the ideal temperature in our facilities with targeted cooling systems designed to optimize energy use and deliver high performance more sustainably.
Keeping temperatures under control is essential, but cooling the entire volume of a room would result in unnecessary energy consumption.
That’s why we use efficient containment of incoming cold-air and outgoing hot-air flows. A dedicated ducting system directs cold air to the front of the racks, separating it from the rest of the data hall and enabling more efficient temperature management.
At our Ponte San Pietro data center campus, we use groundwater as a natural source for heat exchange, reducing the energy required for cooling. Its main advantage is its naturally low and stable temperature throughout the year.
At the end of the process, the water is returned to the aquifer it came from without being mixed with any other substances and in compliance with authorized parameters.
The system is fully redundant and can be supported, either partially or entirely, by the air-to-water chillers in the emergency circuit, which can provide the same cooling capacity as the primary system.
