The Global Cloud Data Center is a data center campus with a surface area of 200,000m2 in Ponte San Pietro (BG), just a few minutes from Milan. All the systems have been designed and built to meet and exceed the highest levels of resilience set by ANSI/TIA 942-B-2017 Rating 4 (formerly Tier 4). At the IT3 Data Center, traffic can be exchanged with all the operators on the Milan Internet eXchange in Milan, thanks to the MIX Point of Presence.

Surface area of more than 200,000 square meters
Three international airports within a radius of 100km
Self-produced hydroelectric and photovoltaic energy
Incredibly efficient cooling system using groundwater
Raised area not subject to flooding (map showing rivers from the territorial government plan/PGT for the Municipality of Ponte San Pietro)
Zone 3 (low level seismic activity): there have not been any confirmed earthquakes in the last 2,000 years (source: Catalogue of strong Italian earthquakes/CFTI from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology/INGV website)
The data center is equipped with a Building Management System (BMS), which monitors the facilities to guarantee operational and energy efficiency for the power supply and cooling systems of the data rooms.
The dual power center contains 12 redundant modules made up of containers that are easy to scale and replace. Each module is made up of 4 stacked containers: 2 for the batteries, 1 for the UPS and 1 for the power center.
The geothermal groundwater cooling system for the primary circuit works on the heat exchangers (2N redundancy) that cool the secondary circuit towards the data rooms. The air/water cooling chillers only start working in an emergency.
Carriers with fiber: TIM, Fastweb, Wind | Tre, Vodafone, Retelit, Cogent, Irideos, Planetel. A dual transmission system to Milan Internet eXchange (MIX) facilitates interconnectivity with tens of further national and international carriers. Provision of managed connectivity available on request.
The data center has been designed to make the most of every possible solution to reduce its impact on the environment as much as possible, without compromising the maximum guaranteed standards for reliability and performance. It is also supplied with 100% renewable energy, from sources certified by the European Guarantee of Origin (GO).

The batteries are contained within purpose-built separate and sealed containers, with separate alarm systems and fire protection systems.
The DC – B of the Global Cloud Data Center is in the south-east of the Campus and will occupy an area of around 15,000m².
The DC – C of the Global Cloud Data Center will further extend the campus's data hall, with another 10,000m² dedicated to IT space.
The DC – D of the Global Cloud Data Center occupies the central area of the campus, with a surface area of over 15,000m².
The DC – E of the Global Cloud Data Center is in the northern part of the campus, and has a total surface area of around 5,000m².
At the main entrance to the campus is the headquarters of the Global Cloud Data Center.
In the south-west of the campus, around 5,000m² is dedicated to multipurpose areas, including offices and laboratories available to customers.
